Grecian Not Venetian

I enjoyed the ferry ride to Santorini playing cards with Uncle John. Santorini was incredible because I could climb on the roofs of the houses. There were lots of cats everywhere and Mom's favourite she called Baby. Our favourite town was Oia which had tons of brightly coloured blue domed churches and stray dogs.

We went to the island of Naxos next. There were ruins close to the port. We went for a drive and saw some newborn goats and I did some rock climbing. It was a dream come true to be able to see the movie The Hobbit in a Naxos theatre. It was in English with Greek subtitles. Maybe I should learn to read The Hobbit in Greek next! I found a new book for my favourite librarian Mrs. Gilmour that I'm sure she doesn't have yet. At our Christmas meal I surprised Mom with a seashell jewelry box.

Our last island was called Paros. It was too warm for doing homework. It was so bright Mom and I had to wear the jacket over our heads to see the iPad screen. It was warm enough to go swimming and wear shorts again. I enjoyed picking oranges and playing baseball on the beach. It was fun having Uncle John with us. We climbed a tree to watch the sunset together.

Exploring Greece With Family

Greece has wonderful restaurants! We went to a place near our apartment with Uncle John and Aunt Linda. We had delicious food and had a friendly waiter who helped us learn some Greek words. We visited the Temple of Zeus and the Parthenon which was being repaired. We saw the changing of the guard by the Greek Parliament. They had pompoms on their shoes. We went exploring through some narrow streets and saw lots of Christmas stuff in the stores. We met a lady from China named Yolanda who joined us for supper. We hope to meet her when we arrive in China next year.
