The Most Unusual Mountains in the World

I went on a trip with Rod, Jesse, and my dad to see the incredible mountains near Guilin. I sat by the Li River with Jesse at nighttime and watched the rafts and boats float by. The mountains were right outside our hotel window in Yangshuo. We took a raft down the Li River past all the awesome landscape. We walked the streets of Yangshuo in the evening and had a delicious supper.

The next day we went on a bicycle ride along the Li River. We saw people floating down the river on rafts. We met some local ladies who showed us a secret way up Moon Hill for less money. The view was amazing but it was a hard climb because it was so hot. We visited with the local ladies who tried to keep me cool with their fans. I pedaled past farmers, rice patties, and cows. Cycling in China is always interesting especially with all the crazy traffic. Before we left beautiful Yangshuo we had mango smoothies with pearls. It was a fantastic trip and I hope to come back some day.

Visiting Emperor Qin

We went to Xian to visit the first real Emperor of China. We took the Bullet Train to Xian which traveled over 300 km per hour. At our hotel we had a whirlpool in our hottub and a cool pool. We went to a Prehistoric Village which was very old. The best part of Xian was seeing the Terracotta Warriors. I liked taking pictures of the ones without heads. I had fun pretending to be a Terracotta Warrior and Emperor Qin. We also saw the Big Goose Pagoda.

I saw my future car outside our hotel. There was a really large Bell Tower in the middle of the city. We walked through the markets in the Muslim Quarter. I saw lots of interesting things like tongues and lungs (blech). We visited a Muslim Mosque which was really quiet. Xian has a really long city wall and we went cycling on it. I let Mom do most of the work when we were on the tandem bike. It was cool meeting an 'ancient' soldier, being a Chinese soldier, pretending to be Samson, but the best part was watching Spongebob Squarepants in Chinese!
