Meeting My Indian Grandparents

When I got to India, I didn't know I was going to meet my 'Indian grandparents' in Delhi. I was quite happy to have found Dinesh and Lali to stay with. We went to the Taj Mahal in Agra which was spectacular and I learned that I was a 'high value person'. We visited the Agra Fort where the Shah who built the Taj Mahal was locked up by his son and could only look out at the place where his wife was buried (the Taj Mahal). I saw many interesting things in Delhi like a skating rink (?) in a six storey mall, the Qutab Tower, the Red Fort, and got to ride in a rickshaw and autorickshaw. We traveled to Jaipur and saw the City Palace and the world's biggest sundial.

In Jaipur I also saw the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) where there were 365 windows. We went to the Amber Fort which was not amber but yellow. I had fun running around in the fort and even saw some decorated elephants. We saw lots of pigs in Jaipur, had fun driving around in autorickshaws, and met an 'old friend'. We went to Jodhpur and had a hotel with a great view of the Mehrangarh Fort. We visited the beautiful fort and lots of colourful markets. I saw many amazing things in India but the best part was staying with Dinesh and Lali. One day I will go back to meet my Indian grandparents again.

The Hunt For The Abominable Snowman (Yeti)

We landed in Kathmandu and met our hosts Kiran and Nirmala. I had fun playing with their girls Sareena and Angel. They took us to visit some temples in Kathmandu. We went on a long bus ride (the bathrooms weren't great) to Chitwan National Park. We took an evening walk and I got to sneak right past a rhino while he was feeding. Going for an elephant ride early in the morning was quite an experience. Later in the day we floated right past a crocodile while we were in a dugout canoe. Our guide Bishnu took us on a jeep safari and we saw lots of animals including a python. We really liked our Chitwan Gaida Lodge. We traveled to Pokhara where we woke up really early to see an Annapurna sunrise at Sangarkot. Our guide Kaji took us on a couple of hikes in the mountains around Pokhara. It was hard climbing but the view was breathtaking. We climbed to the Peace Pagoda and took a boat ride across Fewa Lake. Before we left Nepal, I received a scarf and a handbag from our new friends in Kathmandu. I will never forget them especially Sareena and Angel. (It was a shame that I never got to meet the Abominable Snowman in Nepal.)
